July 2008 - "Reimbursement for OPTION-v™ Products" Current locality-specific step by step reimbursement information for the OPTION-v series catheter is now available directly to physicians, clinicians and coding professionals through the Opticon Medical and Physicians Reimbursement Systems (PRS) websites. The information provided by PRS (A leader and AUA endorsed authority in reimbursement strategies for the Urologist) allows coding professionals easy access to reimbursement guidance concerning the OPTION-v Series products. May 2008 - "OPTION-v™ Series Products Receive Tremendous Response at AUA" Opticon attended the annual AUA meeting in Orlando FL, on May 17-21. During the 3½ day exhibit, The OPTION-v Catheters received a tremendous response from physicians and clinicians, and Opticon collected over 275 domestic and international leads.
May 2008 - "Opticon Begins Direct to Patient Sales" In response to the requests of its physician and patient customers, Opticon Medical has initiated prescription sales of valved urinary catheters directly to patients. This direct sales channel will make Opticon products more accessible to properly qualified patients who’s physicians want them to receive the benefits of valved catheterization, however the bulk of catheter sales will continue to be through distribution to hospitals and physician offices. May 2008 - "Awareness Campaign for Valved Catheter OPTION Continues" The results of Opticon’s ongoing product awareness campaign are becoming increasingly evident among several urological media outlets. In addition to making enhancements to the Company’s own website, Opticon placed a prominent advertisement in the online version of Urology Times, the leading urologic print news journal with 10,500 subscribers, www.urologytimes.com. Opticon Medical and the OPTION-v™ products have also been listed in Incontinence Source 2008, an industry sourcebook for incontinence-related products.
April 2008 - "Urologist Reports OPTION-v™ Successes to Urology Community" Noted Urologist F. Nery Flores, M.D., FACS recently published an article discussing the impressive results obtained with the clinical use of OPTION-v catheters at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. The article is published by Opticon Medical’s distribution partner, Gyrus ACMI, in the Spring 2008 issue of their UROTRENDS Newsletter that enjoys circulation to over 15,000 U.S. Urologists. February 2008 - "Milestone Capital Infusion Funds U.S. Distribution Activities" Opticon Medical recently achieved an important milestone in its sales of OPTION-v™ Series Valved Catheter through its marketing program with Gyrus ACMI. With the capital made available by this milestone achievement, Opticon intends to increase its U.S. products sales by continuing to raise OPTION-v product awareness within the urological and urogynecological communities.
October 2007 - "Opticon Partners with Gyrus ACMI to Market OPTION-v Series Products " Opticon Medical has entered into an exclusive regional distribution agreement with Gyrus ACMI, Inc., a leading worldwide manufacturer and supplier of diagnostic and therapeutic minimally invasive surgical devices in the areas of Urology, Gynecology, ENT and General Surgery to market its OPTION-v Series Products. May 2007 - "Opticon Presents its OPTION-v™ Series Products at AUA" Opticon presented its full product line of innovative valved urinary catheters and accessories at the 2007 Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in Anaheim, CA. This meeting is the premier international urology forum, where cutting edge products are exhibited to more than 8,500 urologist from all over the world.
October 2006 - "OPTION-vf ® Valved Female Catheter Makes Impressive Debut at AUGS" The 2006 Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urogynecological Society marked the unveiling for Opticon Medical’s OPTION-v valved catheter product line to a national audience. The Opticon Medical booth was buzzing with interest as discussion of the OPTION-vf Catheter among urogynecological specialists, and the advantages the product presents to their patients, often had them returning to Opticon’s booth with their colleagues to see the product and the benefits it delivers.
September 2006 - "Opticon Targets Pelvic Surgeons at SPRS Meeting" Opticon accepted an invitation to exhibit its products at the Sixteenth International Pelvic Reconstructive and Vaginal Surgery Conference in St. Louis, MO. The OPTION-vf catheter was featured as a preferred management modality for female patients following many typical pelvic surgeries. Over half of the meeting attendees requested OPTION-vf samples for evaluation in patients they immediately identified in their practices that would benefit from the product and for upcoming procedures.
May 2006 - "USPTO Issues Urinary Flow Control Valve Patent to Opticon Medical" On May 2, 2006 the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued Opticon Medical the patent entitled "Urinary Flow Control Valve". This patent significantly adds to Opticon's substantial intellectual property portfolio of urinary management properties.
January 2006 - "Opticon Recognized as Outstanding Small Technology Team of the Year" On January 12, 2006 TechColumbus honored Opticon Medical with its TopCAT 2005 Outstanding Small Technology Team of the Year Award. This TechColumbus TopCAT Award recognizes and rewards outstanding achievement in all aspects of technology from Life Sciences, I.T., Manufacturing, and Advanced Logistics. |
